WIL Mentoring Program

WIL is excited to launch our newest initiative- our Mentoring Program.

We want to facilitate relationship building and information exchange. You can feel comfortable growing your network all over the country without the pressure of a formal meet-up.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Sign up with the form below by the indicated deadline and tell us if you would like to be a Mentor or a Mentee. You are eligible to be a Mentor if you are a 2nd-year or higher post-doctoral student or faculty. You are eligible to be a Mentee if you are an undergraduate, graduate student, or newly minted post-doctoral student. Give us as many details as possible about your expertise, your biggest questions, and your projected involvement level so we can be good matchmakers.

  2. We help facilitate your first “office hour” via email. This could be a phone call, email exchange, or safe coffee meet-up - whatever is most convenient and comfortable for the Mentor and Mentee.

  3. We will check in quarterly and provide optional events (virtual for now) throughout the year.

  4. Everything else is up to you! Mentors and Mentees can determine how often they’d like to speak or if they’d like to be matched with someone else. This is your chance to ask questions, talk about your fears, share your accomplishments, and make a new friend- on both sides!
